The Summer Solstice is the point at which the sun reaches its highest point in the sky in Edinburgh. It falls at 4.54pm on 21 June bringing the longest day of the year. In Edinburgh, this is a total of 17 hours and 37 minutes of daylight.

Edinburgh Santa Run

Bellies will bounce and beards fly when hundreds of Santas make their annual charity jog through Princes Street Gardens. The Santa run starts at around 1pm following a warm-up. The circuit around the gardens is around 2.5km, so even the most sleigh-bound Santa Claus shouldn't have too much of a problem.
