The City Art Centre is a bright modern space in a former warehouse next to Waverley Station. Houses one of the most extensive collections of Scottish art, including artists from the Edinburgh School. Temporary exhibitions are often of a more populist tone, accessible and interactive.
The spacious cafe makes a laid-back, central meeting point. The City Art Centre is one of the venues of the Edinburgh Art Festival and the gallery's three floors are home to a revolving display of works from The Scottish Art Collection which comprises of 3,500 works.
The Market Street art gallery has also been used for Wonderama for kids during the Edinburgh Science Festival.
The venue's Fifth Floor Gallery, with its panoramic views over the city, and space for up to 150 people, is available for hire for meetings, seminars, workshops, educational activities, receptions, dinners, and product launches.
