The City Art Centre is a bright modern space in a former warehouse next to Waverley Station. Exhibitions are often of a more populist tone, accessible and interactive.
The spacious cafe makes a quiet central meeting point. The City Art Centre is one of the venues of the Edinburgh Art Festival, re-opening on 31 July 2010, after a 15 month, £1.2m refurbishment.
The Market Street art gallery has also been used for Wonderama for kids during the Edinburgh Science Festival.
