C nova
C venues moves on from its former Fringe base at C Soco, after five years, to take over the upper and lower levels of the former Registry Building at the top of Victoria Street.
The empty building is in transition from its former use and awaiting renovation. C nova will create multiple black box studio theatres, exhibition spaces, bars (including a wood-panelled cabaret bar), and a press and performer lounge over the A listed nineteenth-century building's seven floors.
The top two floors will be used for site specific and immersive theatre, while other parts of the building will be used for cafes, bars, exhibitions, a performer centre and workshops and educational activities.
Future of the India Buildings
West Register, an arm of the Royal Bank of Scotland, and City of Edinburgh Council are working in partnership to bring forward plans for a new hotel, which will sit alongside the proposed refurbishment of Edinburgh Central Library.
