37 Large modern theatre in Edinburgh University quarter on elegant Georgian Square. The main theatre has a capacity of 450 and large proscenium arch making it an important venue for large-scale theatre, musicals and dance (particularly during the festival) as well as lectures and talks.
Following refurbishment in 2007, the George Square Theatre returns to the Edinburgh Festival in 2008 as the Edinburgh Fringe's first dedicated venue for musical theatre with new and classic musicals across three performance spaces.
