The National Gallery Complex incorporates the National Gallery of Scotland (home to Scotland's national collection) and the Royal Scottish Academy Building. Both are connected via an underground link containing visitor facilities. Admission to the Gallery Complex's permanent exhibitions is free.

The buildings are located at the foot of the Mound, between West Princes Street Gardens and East Princes Street Gardens.

The National Gallery of Scotland's display of European art is world famous. It includes the Titian's recently acquired Diana and Actaeon, and The Bridgewater Collection of Old Masters including work by Raphael (3), Titian (4), Rembrandt (1) and Poussin (8).

The pictures have been on continuous public view in the National Gallery of Scotland since the collection was placed there in 1945 by the then 5th Earl of Ellesmere, later 6th Duke of Sutherland.

The National Gallery of Scotland is one of the venues for the Edinburgh Art Festival in August.
