Video: Artistic Director Jonathan Mills introduces 2013 EIF Programme

Treats lie in store for EIF-goers this year from Shakespeare's Coriolanus backed by Chinese heavy metal bands to a production of Hamlet that interacts with Richard Burton's 1964 Broadway version; from mashed up dance in Don Quichotte du Trocadéro to Philip Glass Ensemble accompanying a digitally remastered version of Cocteau’s 1946 film La Belle et la Bête.

Here EIF artistic director Jonathan Mills introduces some of the highlights of the 2013 festival programme. Slightly irritatingly, the captions appear to be embedded in the video clip itself so you can't turn them off.

Incidentally, someone on YouTube has put up a full version of La Belle et La Bete synched to Philip Glass's soundtrack. Naturally, the quality and atmosphere will be nothing on a live version where vocalist will be singing as the footage plays behind.
