Baberton

About the Area

Mostly Seventies-build commuter town situated on the outskirts of Edinburgh, south west of the City Bypass and Wester Hailes and south of the Shotts Line railway line. Baberton is accessed by the Lanark Road and Water of Leith bikeway/walkway.

The village of Juniper Green is situated to the south of Baberton and Baberton Golf Course is to the west.

Baberton House is a striking example of a 17th century Scottish mansion, built in 1623 for himself by architect and King's Master of Works Sir James Murray of Kilbaberton.
