Spain doesn't just excel at football, as this free culinary celebration aims to show. A Taste of Spain returns for the third year running with Spanish lifestyle, culture and food from different Spanish regions - Andalucía, Galicia, Mallorca, Menorca, Canary Islands, and the Basque Country.
As well as the return of a giant paella, regions bring local foods and wines for tastings, such as ham, cheeses, wines and sherries, with a flamenco band to set the scene.
Several of the Spanish regions will be offering giveaways, Spanish food treats and interactive activities.
The giant paella for over 1,000 people cooked on the spot waits to be sampled in the Region of Valencia, with almendrados and liquors from Galicia, while The Basque Country offers the chance to savour the flavour of the region with a “gildas” tasting. You'll be able to sample Hierbas, Ibiza’s famous liqueur, whilst Gran Canaria will be offering visitors a sunny photo opportunity with digital backgrounds featuring the island’s dramatic landscapes.
Live music and performances from many of the regions includes ‘Radio Cos’ representing the Celtic traditions of Galicia, with a new modern twist; a Basque vanguard-fusion performance from the region; and Andalucían flamenco from flamenco band La Tribu del Compás.
Among the other attractions, there'll be crazy golf, a pit stop challenge, football simulator, and a football freestyler who will be showing off his tricks.
Jet2.com & tour operator Jet2holidays will be hosting competitions throughout the weekend and the Spanish Tourist Office will also be offering advice about planning a visit to Spain.
