Description

A behind-the-scenes look at creating an exhibition.  From the initial idea to the final presentation, Deborah Clarke, Palace of Holyroodhouse and Treasures curator, explores the process of selecting, researching, conserving and displaying some of the finest works in the Royal Collection.

Deborah will describe how the exhibition was selected, including her visits to the royal palaces and residences where many of the drawings, paintings and works of art are usually displayed. She will highlight the conservation issues that need to be addressed to enable works to be moved and safely displayed. The talk will also outline the process of planning the layout and installation of the many and various types of works in the exhibition, illustrated with behind-the-scenes photographs.
