InnovationNation, a year long series of public lectures, will launch on Wednesday 18th February 2015 with InnovationEnergy. We are delighted to confirm that Professor Martin Tangney (left), Director of the Biofuel Research Centre at Edinburgh Napier University/Founder of the award winning Celtic Renewables and Stuart Brown (right), CEO of FloWave TT, the University of Edinburgh’s ocean simulator facility for marine technologies.

Professor Martin Tangney is an internationally acclaimed innovator and a pioneer of sustainable biofuel. In 2012 he was named International Innovator of the Year by the Institute of Chemical Engineering in recognition of his work in converting whisky production residues into biofuel, and he has won innovation awards at the Scottish Green Energy Awards, the UK Chemical Industry Awards, Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership Awards, the VIBES awards and is the recipient of a Shell Springboard Award for Low Carbon Technology.

FloWave TT, Conceived for cutting edge academic research into wave and tidal current interactions, the FloWave Ocean Energy Research Facility is also an amazing tool for commercial developers to ensure their technologies and projects perform ‘right first time’ and are de-risked as much as practical before cutting steel or going offshore.
