Description

Climate change is without doubt the defining issue of our age. For many, the Paris Agreement on climate change was a fork in the road. Politicians sounded like they were going to tackle this pressing issue that effects us all.

The panel takes a look at how the non-binding commitment to stay within a +2 degree centigrade (with aspirations for a tougher 1.5C) will play out, with a particular emphasis on the economic and environmental implications.

The event is hosted by Michael McCarthy, Environmental Commentator for the Independent, who will be joined by Stephen Smith, Senior Analyst at the Committee on Climate Change and Prof Joanna Haigh, co-director of the Grantham Institute for Climate Change.
