Sprogmanay - as the name suggests - is 3 separate days of kids' activities at the Museum of Scotland over the Edinburgh's Hogmanay Festival.

This is one for all the family in the large open space of the National Museum of Scotland's main hall.

The annual candlelit concert in St. Giles Cathedral forms part of the Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations.

7:00 pm

Two Hogmanay Ceilidhs providing a whirling, birling way to see in the New Year with caller Ken Gourlay, Willie Fraser ceilidh band & piper.

Soft drinks £1, alcohol £3.

8:00 pm

Many moons ago when Hogmanay was still a local thing, Parliament Square in Edinburgh's Old Town was the place to go and dance into the wee, wee hours on the last night of the year.

Summerhall is back with the third edition of its soulful Hogmanay, hosted by Edinburgh’s own The Soul Foundation.

Queen's Hall's traditional Scottish Hogmanay party which includes a ceilidh dance with champagne, whisky, and food.
