Description

A night of hair-raising musical adventures featuring internationally renowned percussionist Joby Burgess, Love Music Community Choir and Punkit, an explosive extravaganza with massed youth percussion from Wester Hailes. Love Music inspires and empowers people to be curious, creative and adventurous with music, bringing them together with professional musicians to produce music of exceptional quality. This concert will be like nothing you’ve heard before!

Punkit is written by Stephen Deazley for solo percussionist, 5-piece professional band and 60 young people playing a range of hand-held percussion instruments, scrap metal and punked-up cardboard boxes. Over the past two years Punkit has been performed by hundreds of young people across the UK and Ireland. It’s an educational and musical journey that is part percussion concerto and part giant groove machine, fueled by a little bit of anarchy and a lot of fun. Find out more about the project at www.punkit.lovemusic.org.uk

Love Music Community Choir will perform an electic selection of songs with rebellious and radical histories by composers and bands ranging from Vivaldi to Kraftwerk to The Clash, accompanied by our exceptional band. They will be joined by the Punkiteers for an epic finale!
