Description

Following its success last year, the contemporary craft and design Fair, "Handmade in Britain" returns to The Hub, Castlehill, Edinburgh from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th October, 10am to 6pm daily.

Browse a display of beautiful yet functional tableware, decorative ceramics, hand and wheel thrown pots as well as delicately designed glass works, both practical and ornamental. Wood comes in all shapes and sizes - polished furniture, decorative hardwood bowls and boxes.

There’s an inspiring collection of fashion and textiles such as hand-woven Scottish merino wool and limited edition accessories in soft Harris Tweed. Dazzling jewellery from traditional pieces crafted in silver and bronze as well as stunning, sculptured wearable Art. If diamonds are a girl's best friend, a lady can never have enough glittering gems and jewels.

With just two months to Christmas, this is the perfect shopping opportunity to find hand-crafted gifts or a work of art for your home. Over 100 renowned artists and designers will showcase a fine selection of ceramics, glass, furniture, fashion, textiles, homeware, metalwork and jewellery. As well as established, award winning artists, Arts Thread presents new work from recent graduates in an exhibition Emerging Talents.

Instead of trawling along the High Street stores or searching the internet, visit Handmade Edinburgh for very special, unique presents – and perhaps treat yourself to a lovely necklace, winter woollens or colourful artwork for your home.
