Waverley Care, Scotlandās leading charity providing care and support to people living with HIV and Hepatitis C, is delighted to renew its special relationship with Bob Chilcott, one of the UKās foremost composers and conductors of choral music, for a unique concert at St Cuthbertās Church, Edinburgh.
The charity is now into its 13th year of running highly successful ācome and singā events, which have raised in excess of Ā£110,000. On Saturday 21st February, Waverley Care will venture into a new area of music, providing singers with a rare opportunity to sing choral pieces written in a jazz style and accompanied by a jazz trio.
The event features a number of items for Waverley Care ācome and singā chorus, all written by Bob Chilcott, including āA Little Jazz Massā, an inspirational and soulful setting of the Latin āMissa brevisā and jazz arrangements of well known folk songs, including āWaltzing Matildaā and āThe House of the Rising Sunā, which Bob has dedicated to Waverley Care.
The concert also includes performances by renowned Edinburgh Jazz Musicians, David Patrick (piano); Mario CaribĆ© (bass) and Stuart Brown (drums) and by Edinburgh Concert Bandās Jazz Section.
