A short film contest was launched yesterday where the winner will be chosen simply by the number of views it can stack up.
Entries to the MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival's Viral Grand Prix must be submitted by 28 July and the videos will be posted on the television festival web site on 4 August. The most viewed clips over the ensuing three week period leading up to the festival will win the title.
competition is open to UK residents only and videos must be suitable for pre-watershed viewing. Clips must be submitted both as a digital format (under 100MB, as per YouTube) and as a hard copy/tape format.
