Top Dairy Firm Rowan Glen to Sponsor Cinderella at King’s Theatre’s

This year Cinderella will go to the ball thanks to her new fairy godmother, or should that be ‘dairy’ godmother?

Rowan Glen, one of Scotland’s best known dairy brands, has been announced as the official sponsor of the King’s Theatre Edinburgh 2017 pantomime, Cinderella

The partnership was launched with a first look at the stars in their costumes for this year’s festive extravaganza - Allan Stewart as Fairy Godmother; Andy Gray as Buttons and Grant Stott as Hibernia Hardup who were joined by the Rowan Glen’s mascot, Bonnie, with their Commercial Manager, Donny Gillies who said,

“Rowan Glen is delighted to sponsor this year’s pantomime at the King’s Theatre, Edinburgh. The pantomime brings so much enjoyment to families from across Scotland and is an annual festive highlight for many children and adults alike. We are proud to now be a part of that tradition.”

Whether the locally sourced Scottish milk used by Dumfries and Galloway based Rowan Glen is actually from Bonnie the Cow is debatable, but it is used to produce a wide range of yogurts as well as a range of cheeses, butter, spreads, and desserts. The brand doesn’t hold a top 12 Scottish Grocery brand status for nothing.
Arts & Business Scotland will provide match-funding of Rowan Glen’s sponsorship through their Culture & Business Fund Scotland (CBFS), that aims to encourage active collaboration between businesses and the cultural sector by matching sponsorship of cultural projects pound for pound.

The CBFS funding will enhance Rowan Glen’s sponsorship by providing additional promotional opportunities and supporting the King’s Theatre’s wider family show and schools programme, including a Relaxed Panto performance for children and adults with additional needs.

Head of Programmes at Arts & Business Scotland Carl Watt commented, “I am very pleased that Rowan Glen has chosen to support the King’s Theatre Edinburgh pantomime Cinderella, and that we are able to match this sponsorship through our CBFS … I hope that this will be the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship.”

Look out for Rowan Glen competitions with lots of panto prizes and opportunities for audiences to take selfies with Rowan Glen’s Bonnie the Cow in this year’s ‘Dairy-Tale’.

Cinderella opens on Saturday 2 December 2017 and runs until Sunday 21 January 2018 www.edtheatres.com/cinderella .
