Hogmanay Hoog and Hoog Royale Tickets Still Available

The organisers of Edinburgh's Hogmanay have reduced the price on the remainder of the 450 or so tickets to the first "Hoog Royale". The introductory New Year's Eve event taking place at the Queen's Hall was formerly priced at £60, but are now £42.50 (£45 including booking fee).

Some of the 1700 tickets for the other Hoog event at the Assembly Rooms, which this year replaces the New Year Revels, are still also available. In previous years, tickets to the Assembly Rooms event used to be
snapped up quickly and often re-surfaced on internet auction sites at
much higher prices - but you can still get tickets for the Hoog at this
fairly late stage from the official sources (see link below). Hoog tickets are £47.50 (£50 with ticket purchasing fee).

Unlike in previous years with The Revels tickets, Hoog tickets do not include access to the street party. Revellers will need to buy separate street party tickets priced at £5 or (depending on availability) £20 per Hogmanay "party pack."

The Assembly Rooms will have six licensed bars and three stages with discos and a ceilidh for its Hoog.

The live-music line-up includes five-piece folk band Teannaich, all-girl ceilidh dance group Belle Star Band and 5-piece trad jazz band John Cowan and his Lairds of Dixieland.

The Hoog Royale is aimed at those looking for a more intimate setting, a short distance away from the giant street party. The bands playing are ceilidh band Blaze in the Bothy and the ubiquitous John Cowan and his Lairds of Dixieland.

The Hoog and the Hoog Royale take place from 7.30pm 31st December 2007 to 2am on 1st January 2008.
