The Edinburgh International Festival draws to its close tonight with the ever popular annual Virgin Money Fireworks Concert.

The 45-minute concert, which will be broadcast live on Forth 1 Radio (97.3/97.6 in West Lothian and 102.2 MHz in Penicuik, DAB: 12D), starts at 9.30pm.

The fireworks display will be started by seven-year-old Aaron Terrell from Dalgety Bay and will be visible from around the capital and as far as away as Fife, across the Firth of Forth.

Fireworks gazers can tune into Forth Radio’s fireworks show with Boogie and Arlene from 9pm.

As in previous years, The Scottish Chamber Orchestra will provide the soundtrack and Pyrovision will choreograph the fireworks display .

This year’s Festival Fireworks concert marks the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death with musical interpretations of his work and will be led by 37-year old, Estonian conductor Kristiina Poska.

Around a quarter of a million people are expected to watch the fireworks display.
