The oldest Custom House in Scotland, this distinctive neoclassical building in Leith was designed by Robert Reid and built between 1810 and 1812, with alterations in 1825 by William Burns. It was built as an administrative centre for the collection of dues on goods traded through the Port of Leith.


Gallery owner and Edinburgh College of Art graduate Avril Nicol relocated &Collective art gallery from Bridge of Allan to Edinburgh in March 2017.

&Gallery specialises in a range of contemporary painting, drawing and printmaking by artists from Scotland and abroad.

Gallery hours are:

Tuesday to Friday: 10am-5pm
Saturday: 10am-4pm

Upright Gallery

Upright Gallery is a small, private gallery at the edge of Bruntsfield Links exhibiting contemporary art.

Graphic designer Ian Farmer set up the gallery in April 2017, and he runs a design business at the same location.
