ST ANDREW'S DAY FIESTA AT CAFE ANDALUZ

Cafe Andaluz is celebrating its new location in the Scottish capital, alongside its Spanish heritage on St Andrews day (30th November) by giving away a free dish to customers highlighting the quality of its carefully sourced Scottish local produce*.

Not only the patron saint of Scotland, St Andrew is also a revered figure in Spanish territories and the Spanish army used his saltire as their flag for hundreds of years, so for Cafe Andaluz it's the perfect day to celebrate.

To take advantage of this special St Andrews Day offer, book a table at Cafe Andaluz on the 30th November and ask for the St Andrew's Day offer to be treated to a free dish of Salpichon de Mariscos, a delicious combination of succulent Scottish king prawns, mussels, clams and calamari marinated in lemon, dill and garlic oil.

The chefs at Cafe Andaluz pride themselves on sourcing the finest local ingredients from Scottish suppliers and combining these with speciality imported goods from Spain, to create authentic dishes with a Scottish twist.

At Cafe Andaluz seafood is a real passion, they source mussels from Loch Eil, scallops from North Uist, salmon from Wester Ross - even St Andrew who was a fisherman himself would be impressed with the wealth of local fayre!

They use an Edinburgh based butcher, who selects the highest quality, meats from around Scotland including beef from Meadow End farm, Lamb from Hamilton's farm and pork from White Leas farm all based near Stirling.

A dish which demonstrates the happy union of the two cultures is Butifarra Negra which is Andalucian take on the classic black pudding, embellished with an onion and apple chutney. The recipe reflects authentic Spanish cooking while the produce is from Granton on Spay

Restaurateur Mario Gizzi commented "We are very proud of being Scottish; we started Cafe Andaluz in Glasgow and created a true fusion restaurant where quality Scottish ingredients are combined with Spanish flair for cooking. We are delighted to be celebrating St Andrew's day in the Scottish capital in our own unique way."

George Street's newest restaurant has been buzzing since its opening in July with locals and tourists alike devouring the tempting plates of Iberian treats. To book a table please call 0131 220 9980 or drop in to Cafe Andaluz on George Street.

* The free dish of Salpichon de Mariscos will be served between two diners purchasing four dishes or more.
