Festival of Museums
Edinburgh joins Europe in the Festival of Museums with special events throughout the weekend that bring a flourish of exhibitionism and performance to museums and galleries.
The inaugural festival had 70 events in 2011 in museums across Scotland and 16 events at museums in Edinburgh and the Lothians, such as an exhibition themed around dogs and hats at the City Art Centre and a chance to make music and art at St Ceclia's Hall.
The programme for the Festival of Museums is usually launched in March.
