Description

This is a one-hour walking tour of the Royal Mile: the heart of Edinburgh's historic Old Town.

We'll show you many of the famous sites in the city, and also the out-of-the way corners and hidden places – closes and courtyards, pends and wynds – which you might never discover on your own.

Our guides are all volunteers. We are local people with a great enthusiasm for our city and its history, who love to share our knowledge. We receive no payment of any kind. Our tours are genuinely free; we do not solicit tips.

For the safety of our visitors and guides, these tours strictly follow the Scottish Government's current Covid-19 guidelines.

Please note that the tours' meeting point is on the pavement in front of the City Chambers (in the High Street), not the building itself. There is no advance booking. Just turn up on the day that suits you.
