Description

It's election day in Edinburgh. Edinburgh will be returning five MPs to Westminster. Nominations for candidates at the 2010 General Election closed at 4pm on 20th April. The vote count commences from 10pm in the various halls at Meadowbank Stadium with the announcements being made in Hall 1.

The candidates for Edinburgh constituencies are as follows:

Edinburgh East

  • Gary Clark – Scottish Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition
  • Martin Donald - Scottish Conservative and Unionist
  • Sheila Gilmore - Scottish Labour Party
  • Robin Harper - Scottish Green Party
  • Beverley Hope - Scottish Liberal Democrats

Edinburgh North and Leith
