Sunday 9 - Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School Burlesque life drawing class (Speakeasy).
Dr Sketchy is what happens when cabaret meets art school!
The
audience draws a glamorous model: a cabaret star, burlesque diva or
drag queen; a charming host awards prizes and encourages the audience
to make art and mischief in equal measure; short performances get the
creative juices flowing. All of this combines to create a delightfully
decadent mix of cabaret, performance art and good old fashioned pen and
paper!
Conceived
in 2005 by New York artist Molly Crabapple, Dr. Sketchy now boasts 21
branches around the world, from Hollywood to Melbourne. In 2006 Phyllis
Martin, cabaret producer and Edinburgh Fringe addict, founded Dr
Sketchy Scotland. It's been a tremendous success, and 2008 sees Dr
Sketchy Scotland bringing a bevvy of burlesque beauties to The Voodoo
Rooms.
From 3 - 5pm. £7 to draw, £4 entry to drink/watch.
