Night of Comedy for Waverley Care to be hosted by stars of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

On Sunday 9th October, comedians Jason Manford and Phill Jupitus will step aside from their roles as Caractacus Potts and Baron Bomburst in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang that is at Festival Theatre Edinburgh from Wednesday 5 to Sunday 16 Oct 2016, to host a Comedy Gala in support of Waverley Care, Scotland’s HIV and Hepatitis C charity.

Jason Manford shot to stardom as team captain on Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats in 2007 and recently completed his third sell-out tour, that took him across the world and Phill Jupitus became a familiar face when he started as team captain on BBC2’s Pop quiz Never Mind the Buzzcocks in 1996, returning to television stand up in 2012 for the first time since 2000 with an appearance on Live at the Apollo. This one night event that takes place at the Festival Theatre Edinburgh gives a rare chance to see these two well- known comedians on the same bill. More special guests are also being lined up for the evening.

Chief Executive of Waverley Care, Grant Sugden, said, “We are thrilled to be benefiting from what will undoubtedly be a fantastic night of comedy. The money we raise through events such as this makes a huge contribution to our work, allowing us to reach out to many vulnerable individuals and families who are living with HIV or Hepatitis C here in Edinburgh. We are very grateful to Jason, Phill, Festival Theatre Edinburgh and to John Stalker Productions for making this happen.”

Sunday 9th October at 9pm Tickets (£25) are available from www.edtheatres.com or 0131 529 6000
