The Minister for the last fifteen and a half years at South Leith Parish Church, the Reverend Ian Gilmour, preaches his last sermon there on Easter Sunday. A few days later, on Thursday 28 April 2011 he is inducted into the parish of St Andrew’s and St George’s West at a service at 7pm in the George Street church.
The annual book sale in aid of Christian Aid at St Andrew’s and St George’s West Church in George Street opens on Saturday 14 May 2011 for a week (except the Sunday). Last year £106,000 was raised and it remains the largest fund raising event in aid of Christian Aid.
