35 The Assembly Hall is in the neo-gothic building situated directly East of Edinburgh Castle. With twin turrets forking above the skyline it is clearly visible as you climb up the Mound.
The mid-19th century hall is equally impressively with its huge vaulted ceilings and spacious courtyard. With its coats of arms, Victorian portrait paintings, and wooden panelling it harks back to a different era.
The Assembly Hall is the annual meeting place of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.
