The EICC opened in 1995, and has since held over 2000 events, attracting 700,000 delegates to the Scottish capital. Primarily aimed at the business and corporate world the purpose-built conference centre is also a Fringe venue in August. The conference centre has a 1200-raked seating auditorium which transforms into 3 separate auditoria "at the touch of a button".The EICC also offers banqueting for up to 850 people or 2000 sq metres of exhibition space, as well as 4 suites that can be subdivided to create 11 meeting rooms.
