Seafield Household Waste Recycling Centre

Seafield Household Waste Recycling Centre (aka Seafield HWRC) is Edinburgh's largest recycling centre located between Portobello Beach and Leith Docks on Seafield Road.

The recycling centre transfers all manner of unwanted items into different streams for recycling and reuse, from televisions to leaves from your garden, from car batteries to that mini-mountain of accumulated plastic.

Edinburgh City Council re-opened the two-tier recycling facility with new hours in April 2019 that aligned with bordering authorities to minimise the amount of waste being dumped from outside Edinburgh.

As well as being a waste transfer station, Seafield HWRC is a depot for the Council's fleet of refuse vehicles.

Thursday: 9am-6.30pm
