Cramond

About the Area

Cramond to the North West of Edinburgh, East of Dalmeny and West of Silverknowes, is a favourite destination for afternoon trips to the beach. There are fantastic views across the Firth of Forth to Fife on a good day.

Cramond is one of oldest villages in Edinburgh and has had the longest known period of human settlement. The Romans were stationed here over a thousand years ago.

Today, the area retains its village atmosphere with its 18th century houses and old pub the Cramond Inn where, after a windswept walk along the beach, you can quaff a beer or indulge in tea and scones.
