Australian author and chat show host Clive James has a series of afternoon interviews with different guests this week. James brings his characteristic wry sense of humour and keeps the audience enthralled throughout his show.
Today, 17th August, he had Nicholas Parsons as his guest and this made an amusing exchange for the hour, but he opened up the discussion for questions from the audience and this worked well - indeed it could have gone on much longer had time permitted.
Sunday, he was in conversation with Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh and tomorrow he is joined by another local author Iain Banks. Garrison Keillor is in the hot seat on Wednesday, followed by Alexander McCall Smith on Thursday, Michael Morpurgo on Friday and Sir Richard Eyre on Saturday.
Well worth trying to hear him. And you can also catch him at his evening show "Clive James in the Evening: More to Say" at The Gilded Balloon Teviot.
Times: 12.55 for one hour.
