Improv theatre has become increasingly popular at Fringe festivals across the globe, offering each audience a show unique to their individual place and time. However, none of them quite match the unrepeatable nature of Aurora Nova’s White Rabbit Red Rabbit.

Trapped in Iran, writer Nassim Soleimanpour wrote a script to wander the stages of the world on his behalf. His play implores an actor, without direction, forethought or reassurance, to open a sealed script and read aloud its contents to their equally clueless audience.

Having travelled the globe, this production has gained prestige with its ability to remind audiences of the powers of theatre, to invoke thought, attention and realise inevitable outcomes.

With each actor bringing their own take on the envelope’s content, no two productions are the same.

Simon MacCallum’s first and last performance with White Rabbit Red Rabbit opens the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe run of this show. He dives into Soleimanpour’s travelling show with earnest and an open-minded control over his performance.

Performance Times: 4-28 August, 4pm (5pm)
