Some will know it as Opium, now calling itself Legends. Plays it loud and plays it heavy. Based down in the Cowgate, in an area with clubs aplenty, with a reputation as a late-night, grungey hard rock, goth and metal venue on two floors.
Bars on each floor with a tiny dance floor upstairs that later turns into a sweaty mosh pit.
Cheap drinks, with promos on quieter days of the week, ensure the place is heaving, with a mixed crowd not just those clad in denim, leather, and black mascara.
Being in the Cowgate, means it usually doubles as a Fringe venue for the three weeks of August (e.g. Just the Tonic at Fringe 2024) and PBH Free Fringe in previous years.
