Murrayfield

About the Area

Best known for its famous stadium, Murrayfield is an area to the west of Edinburgh city centre, neighbouring Roseburn, Slateford, and Corstorphine. The nearest railway station is Haymarket.

It is largely an affluent residential area with a fair number of hotels and guesthouses and also a more industrial area with businesses such as car dealerships near the stadium.

The high street is on the A8, which as the main road West, can get busy at times. Away from the road are pleasent, quiet streets, with views to the nearby Corstorphine Hill.

The Water of Leith runs through Murrayfield, along the perimetre of Murrayfield stadium.

The Edinburgh Tram stops at Murrayfield Stadium.
