The Edinburgh International Film Festival doesn't officially get under way until the opening gala screening of Dylan Thomas biopic The Edge of Love next Wednesday, but you can sample some vintage film fare at the free Festival Under the Stars tonight (Friday) to get in the mood.
Festival Under the Stars will see four popular feature-length films - E.T., Local Hero, Strictly Ballroom, and Back to the Future - showing on a large screen outside the National Gallery at the foot of the Mound
Naturally, good weather can make or break the event, so organisers will be keeping fingers crossed that the recent overcast weather doesn't turn to showers.
