Recently read some information about a tech-art installation that was set up in London a few days ago, which is on it's way to Edinburgh. I found the idea quite fascinating.. at first, I did not see the purpose of it, but then I realized how it works apart from the web. Basically, the projest is a dome with cameras all around it, taking panoramic photos every minute. the photos can then be accessed thru the web, but the interesting part is, they can also be seen on the screens inside the dome. The screens are reacting on the viewer, meaning that the closer you stand towards the screen, the farther in time the captured memory recedes. here's a link to a youtube vid I saw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4WZdLGDtbA I guess the views from the Mound might be quite alrite.

Don't know if this is the same thing (the link above didnt work) but the BBC have a video of the cyclerama a drum with 11 cameras taking images in sequence of the skyline. It's user activated and pulls up archive footage for you to view, depending on where you stand in relation to the screen.
