Award winning Belt Up presents theatre, music, and more at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2008. A new immersive venue showcasing vibrant productions of new writing and classics. You will see red.

For the first time in its 17 year history, C venues surrenders control over one of its venues for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2008. The result? Freak shows, secret shows and anything-goes shows.

Award-winning Belt Up (Nothing to See/Hear) has devised The Red Room - a daring and decadent immersive environment space featuring vibrant productions of new writing and classics. The space, and its audience, will be under Belt-Up's control.

Styled as a boudoir, The Red Room will immerse audiences in a theatrical world of music, dance and physical feats. Audiences will encounter unique characters, discover secret shows and enjoy each production as an individual personal experience.

Every show has been produced especially for The Red Room. Five of these will run every day of the festival: The Tartuffe, The Park Keeper, Volpone, Women of Troy, and Lost Soul Music. And scattered across various locations in Edinburgh will be Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth, run on alternate weekends over three days. Audiences may encounter a brawl in the bar, a love scene in the foyer, or be invited to a banquet.

Also on the Red menu are short plays, a pervert circus, a masked tea party and comedy throughout the Festival period. Visitors might also stumble upon intimate bespoke performances with The Red Room's grotesque inhabitants. Be on guard.

The following main shows will run every day of the festival, with the exception of Lost Soul Music which will not run at weekends.

2.30pm - The Tartuffe

4.30pm - The Park Keeper

6.30pm - Volpone

8.30pm - Women of Troy

10.00pm - Lost Soul Music

Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet will play for three nights during the weekends.
