‘Muddy' Speed Dating Comes to Edinburgh and Scotland

‘Muddy' Speed Dating Comes to Scotland

Online community MuddyMatches.co.uk and the Scottish Countryside
Alliance
(SCA) are teaming up to put on a light-hearted evening of speed dating
for country-minded, or ‘muddy', people of all ages.

Any person who
loves the countryside and is not afraid of a bit of mud.

The evening will take place from
7.30pm on Friday 24th October 2008 in the George Suite of the
Roxburghe Hotel, Edinburgh
and will see a wide range of single country people coming together from across
the region to see if they hit it off.

"Speed dating is a tried and tested formula and a
really fun way to meet some new people
", says Lucy Reeves, of
Muddy Matches.  "Sometimes people
worry that they will not have enough to say to some of their
‘dates' but what makes this event so special  is that, being
specifically aimed at country-minded people, everyone attending will
automatically have something in common.  We have held a number of similar
events in England and they
have always been well attended so we are delighted, with the help of the
Scottish Countryside Alliance,
to be able to bring the idea to Scottish muddies!
"

Amelia
Farquhar, Office and Events manager with the SCA said: "This is a bit of fun and Muddy Matches have a
track record of success in organising such events, so we are very happy for our
members to have the opportunity to enjoy speed dating with a country
twist."

Speed dating is an organised
matchmaking event that focuses on meeting a lot of people in a short period of
time.  Every participant gets the opportunity to spend 3 or 4 minutes chatting
to each member of the opposite sex and must then make a note of which of their
‘dates' they would like to see again, either romantically or as a
friend.  A day or two after the event, they are informed of any matches and
given their contact details.

MuddyMatches.co.uk is a countryside online dating and social networking site that enables

works in partnership with the Scottish Parliament and various relevant
organisations to find balanced solutions to countryside issues ranging from the
impact of fuel costs on businesses to the best methods for successful land
