Earth calling Climate Heroes: This Saturday 27 September

Earth calling Climate Heroes

"With great power comes great responsibility" - Spiderman

This
Saturday (27 September) Green Party MSP Patrick Harvie will join
activist Dan Glass, notorious for glueing himself onto Gordon Brown, at
a free event to encourage ordinary people to become Climate Heroes [1].
The occasion - organised by Friends of the Earth Scotland, the World
Development Movement and People & Planet - aims to teach people how
to ensure that Scotland takes the lead in creating a climate friendly
future.
The day will include talks and
training on how to lobby MSPs, work with the media and hold eye
catching events to raise awareness of the Scottish Climate Change Bill,
which is soon to enter the Scottish Parliament.
Rosiaina Browning, one of the organisers at Friends of the Earth Scotland, said:
"It's
great news to have the Scottish Climate Change Bill soon entering
Parliament. However there are still important loopholes that we need to
close, such as the fact it doesn't include emissions from international
flights and shipping.
"This event aims to give
ordinary people the tools to ensure that we get truly world-leading
climate legislation at Holyrood. Everyone's welcome to join us and
become a Climate Hero."
