bling! Help us recreate and decorate some very special treasure boxes from our
inspiring collections. Step inside a giant Monymusk Reliquary or add your own
treasure to the Darien Chest. All materials are provided. In partnership with Alchemy
Arts.

Put
your mark on our large community art piece entitled Changing Fortunes.

Come
and explore the changing landscape of East Fortune in the 20th century through

Heavens Above! Help
us with an astronomical artwork over the three days. Children should be

kids can visit Edinburgh castle and the National War Museum for free. Plan a fantastic day out for
the whole family!

Meet our resident
redcoats for marching and musket drills in Scotland's most famous regimental home on Sat 4
and Sun 5.

3. Scrapheap Challenge

Search
through the scrap, build something that flies than see how far you can make it
go! A wide range of craft materials will be on offer from card, paper and
straws, all you need is imagination!

Take part in Storybook
Adventures using scrap materials to create an unfolding 3D storybook based on a
day at the museum. Learn to use simple folding, then decorate with pictures
which tell a tale that twists and turns through the museum and its treasures! In
Partnership with Alchemy Arts.

Celebrate 500
years of printing in Scotland by making your own beautifully printed
postcard to send to a friend or loved one. Use the stamps supplied to design
your own message then post it from the museum. Ages 5+

Make a scary
scarecrow in our morning sessions or join us to make a terrifying peg doll in

Spooky Story Shadow Puppets

Celebrate
National Tell a Story Day in our special workshop. Join Alchemy Arts and
explore the ancient art of shadow puppets whilst recycling modern scrap
materials!  Learn how to transform broken brollies, torches, card, and
sweetie wrappers into a telling of a spooky Scottish tale.  All materials
will be provided but any shiny colourful cellophane from your recycling bin is
most welcome!
