POWER LUNCH

Networking Companies Generate Business

& Help Raise £1700 for Charity during Credit Crunch Times

Edinburgh
based business networking organisation, The Power Lunch Club brought together nearly 100 businesses last Thursday, the 30th of October in
the Express by Holiday
Inn
, both to network and also to help raise some £1700 for the Scottish charity, The Thistle Foundation.

The
event which was hosted by top comedienne and radio personality Susan Morrison attracted
representatives from organisations such as the Scottish Business Forums, the Royal Bank of Scotland and Tods Murray LLP.

Barry Hynd, founder
of the Scottish Business
Forums
said of the event, "Any great networking occasions
such as this are based upon building relationships with high calibre
businesses.   We could see that this event attracted exactly that in large
numbers.  What we experienced as a direct result of attending was a high level
of interest in the services that the Scottish Business Forums offers to
organisations.

Without
a doubt during these difficult economic times the Power Lunch Club is one of the best ways
help companies to do business: their approach to networking is both original
and pioneering, whilst operating events such as this in a relaxing environment.

We
were delighted attend the event which was also just great fun and also be able to
help raise such a fantastic amount of money.  This coupled with being part of
an organisation that focuses of helping businesses building key relationships
stresses again the importance of making the Power Lunch Club part of a
company's networking programme."

Event
organiser and owner of the Power
Lunch Club
, Gordon
Dow
added, "We achieved a major result for both the
charity and the companies who attended the event; along with the money raised
we wanted to ensure businesses focused down on making business connections and
relationships and that's exactly what they did.  Giving businesses the
platform to make themselves visible right now is just what we do time and time
again and is more crucial than ever during these tough economic times.

Business
is a ‘serious business' but we made it fun too, with many fantastic
high standard prizes, such as a Jaguar car for the day and several weekend breaks, which
included Florence and Milan.
Susan Morrison who
hosted the event was extremely well received and humour was the order of the
day.

The
charity has also passed on their thanks for the monies raised which will go toward
their important work, the creation of tailored services designed to support
disabled people and those with long term health conditions to leading as full
and active and as independent lives as possible."
