20th Anniversary of "children's village" project Sreepur, Gazipur, Bangladesh

Having personally visited the Childrens village project in Sreepur and filmed there, over ten years ago and witnessed the superb work that has been done there.  I can think of no more worthy cause.   Congratulations on your 20th Anniversary.....John Ritchie ....Editor

We have much pleasure in letting you know
Shishu Polli Plus ( SPP) is marking its 20th Anniversary with a two-day
"Get Together" programme at its "children's village" project at Sreepur, Gazipur
from Friday, February 6,,2009. Shishu
Polli Plus was established at Sreepur in 1989 on a 15-acre site and has been
working for destitute women and children in Bangladesh ever since. It provides a decent, hygienic
living environment, a nutritious diet, clothing and basic toiletries. In
addition, it gives instruction in literacy and numeracy, provides vocational
training, and encourages  life
skills, games and recreation. Since its inception over 2180 boys and girls
and 539 mothers have benefitted from SPP support.

The organisation was founded by Pat Kerr, at
that time a British Airways flight attendant, and built up with the support of
British Airways and  private donors,
mostly in the UK. Long-standing donors -- both local and
overseas -- well-wishers, prominent prsonalitiesrelite, government and other
officials, and former SSP beneficiaries have been invited to Sreepur  to launch the anniversary programme at
10.30 a.m. on February 6

We are sure there will be wide interest in
this event and cordially invite you to attend. Reporters, photographers and
camera crews will be very welcome will be able to give the general public an
accurate, up-to-the minute, glimpse of the 
work and continuing success of this outstanding humanitarian
organisation.
