VEGAS! - free 'quickie-divorce' + Missy Malone on Saturday 28th March

Following the incredible scenes at the VEGAS! Valentine's Ball, where the Fun-Da-Mentalist Reverend ‘Rufus B. Sweet’ and the Scandanavian Bush Baptist minister ‘Brother Lee Love’ ‘married’ 31 couples (not to mention a rather sordid trio, plus a very odd quartet - and it's probably best not to mention their unusual multi-partner ‘sleeping’ arrangements either!), VEGAS! issues the following statement:

We now realise that our idea was morally bankrupt, and that we were socially irresponsible in our cavalier attitude towards the sanctity and purity of the institution of marriage.

That being the case, we now feel that it is our responsibility and, indeed, our obligation to take the necessary steps to rectify this unfortunate situation…

We hereby offer our sincere
apologies to anyone who witnessed these weddings or who was, quite rightly, shocked and offended by our actions, and we’ve decided that, to make things right, the only sensible course of action is to therefore offer every couple who got 'married' at The VEGAS! Valentine's Ball the opportunity to have their vows annulled, completely free of charge.

The legendary (‘hanging’) Judge George Jeffreys will preside in the specially convened VEGAS! Q-D
(Quickie-Divorce) Court, and will issue each couple with an official VEGAS! Decree Nisi and, unless a ‘pre-nuptial’ agreement is already in place, he will also order the division of any property, music discs and the contents of the fridge, along with custody and visitation rights of any pets and/or children.”

These (questionably) legal proceedings will be held in The Speakeasy saloon of The Voodoo Rooms at the next VEGAS! clubnight being held in Edinburgh on Saturday the 28th of March which, incidentally, will feature burlesque performances from the Scottish Queen of Burlesque 'MISSY MALONE', and a special credit-crunching, ‘recession-friendly’ admission price of only a fiver.

The VOODOO ROOMS can be found above The Cafe Royal, at 19a West Register Street, Edinburgh EH2 2AA

Admission is £5:00 - advance tickets are NOT available...
