"Dressed in black suits and white shirts, you would be forgiven for believing you were staring up at John, Paul, George and Ringo back in the 60s. The Blackbirds, a stunningly energetic and eager tribute act filled Starka with the finger tappingly catchy sounds of The Beatles. The boys seemed somewhat anachronistic when placed in their modern surroundings playing classic hits such as
‘A Hard Days Night’ and ‘She loves You’ with such an adept sense of the band they were paying tribute to.
They sound like The Beatles, and are certainly working on getting the look down - the left-handed bassist is definitely a quirky added extra. Showing off their personal talents Derek, or Paul sang a fantastic rendition of Blackbird. And Chris, or George played a delightful and, dare I say it, cute rendition of While My Guitar Gently Weeps."
