1-1-2 bitches…

Az-Tech is still scraping itself up off the floor after our busiest night ever on Friday with the mighty Plaza De Funk.

A packed dance-floor for most of the night, a whole host of new faces and one of the best sets we’ve ever had in the venue… this is why we do what we do!

Already we’re looking ahead to the second installment of our ‘Grand Finale’, marking only two more events before we bow out (dis)gracefully…

Since we’re in nostalgic mood, we’ve picked an artist whose tracks have been played since day one, creator of seminal Az-Tech anthem “The Raid”… it’s JINX.

Formed in 1999, JINX cut their teeth on Northern England’s free party circuit before conspiring to create music based on a shared love of Dub, Jungle, Techno and Breaks. After diverging into the world of Tech House, and a small change in personnel, Jinx reformed in 2005 with a techier, more funked-up sound. After their first two releases were snapped up by Koma & Bones for their Burrito label, 2006 saw the release of the internationally lauded single “The Raid”.

It’s hard to quantify the effect that track had on the three young Az-Tech DJs, safe to say we were blown away by our first taste of ‘Acid Breaks’ and were instantly hooked. It’s been our ‘go-to’ track to end any party in style, and can’t wait to hear it ripping through the Caves once again.

Also known as JINX IN DUB for the cool & deadly reggae-flavoured waistline music gracing some of our favourite labels (Functional, Against the Grain, Bassrock etc), JINX arrives in Edinburgh for one of the most tantalizing musical experiences of our three year tenure.
