All I want for Christmas is to sing with Rock Choir

Rock Choir has proved to be big hit with people in Edinburgh with a 70 strong Rock Choir already formed and people from all walks of life coming along to sing out their hearts at rehearsals every week. Scheduled to sing at Princes Street Gardens on Saturday 4 December as part of the celebrations for Christmas, Rock Choir members were disappointed to miss their debut performance because of the arctic conditions.  Now friends and family of Edinburgh Rock Choir will have to wait a little longer to hear their loved ones sing.
Rock Choir offers pop, gospel and Motown singing sessions for the general public with no audition, no need to read music and no singing experience required. Edinburgh Rock Choir members have attended weekly rehearsals since September building confidence as well as a repertoire of upbeat and feel good songs, such as, Phil Collins or The Supremes 'Can't Hurry Love' and 'All I want for Christmas'.
Elaine Williamson, local Rock Choir leader, said: “It was such a shame we missed out on doing our show because Rock Choir sounded fantastic in the dress rehearsal, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were really proud that they had learned four songs in ten weeks and were ready for the show. Many Rock Choir members haven’t sung since school days and were very shy before joining Rock Choir so it is a real accomplishment for them to sing as part of Rock Choir.“
Rehearsals start again in January and Rock Choir always welcomes new members. Edinburgh Rock Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at Main Hall, Boroughmuir High School, Montpelier Park, Bruntsfield, Edinburgh, EH10 4LR
Rock Choir has been described by the Daily Telegraph as a ‘Nationwide Phenomenon’ and the Daily Express as a “New musical movement sweeping the country” and is supported by the media and organisations across the UK for the feel good and uplifting ethos and life changing experiences that it offers.
Rock Choir captured the hearts of the music industry as the ‘people’s choir’ and Universal offered Rock Choir a four album record deal. Rock Choir Vol.1 was released in July 2010 and went straight to number 1 in the Amazon charts and entered the top 20 in the UK album charts. Rock Choir achieved a Guinness World Record as the Largest Musical Act to release an album (signed).
The album is available on amazon.co.uk and in HMV and features 1,000 members of Rock Choir performing 12 feel-good pop, gospel and Motown songs. Rock Choir supports the charity Refuge (Supporting women and children in domestic violence.)
