The Imaginate Festival is an annual children’s festival for performing arts held in various venues in Edinburgh. There’s a great variety of shows from Scotland, Scandanavia and Europe and ‘We dance, wee groove’, is a fun interactive show for toddlers up to five devised by the Glasgow based dance company Still Motion.

With music and graphics projected from a screen, the parents and children were invited to form a circle and then the entertainment began with high octane dancers intermingling with the children encouraging them to simulate their actions such as swimming, surfing, being animals in a forest, walking on the moon.

Shy at first, the children soon became lulled into the friendly, energetic atmosphere – inhibitions were abandoned and they had great fun immersing themselves in this imaginative world.
