Since its inception in 1816, the racecourse at Musselburgh has suffered highs and lows as horse-racing's fortunes have waxed and waned, but the "sport of kings" is alive and kicking on Edinburgh's Easterly outskirts with many renovations in recent years.
Regular buses leave from Princes Street. The racecourse runs a bus link if you are taking the train to nearby Wallyford railway station, on the Edinburgh Waverley to North Berwick train.
