Classic cocktails, superb pub meals and fine dining at this cool and contemporary Urban Inn

Restaurateurs can have the funding, innovative designers, champion chef and brilliant bartenders, but what you can’t buy is the perfect ambience.

What does help is preserving the heritage of a building through design and décor, tracing a link with the past to the present to create an authentic sense of place.

The lively Bar offers an all day lunch menu right through to supper time - soup, salads, burgers, steak, pasta. Call in for morning coffee or at Gin o'clock for perfectly shaken cocktails, wines, beers & craft ales from Scotland, Belgium and USA.

Alternatively, dinner in the Brasserie next door which specialises in modern Scottish cuisine: Limouson –Angus beef from the Tweed Valley, North Sea and West Coast seafood, regional cheeses. The kitchen also supports the local neighbourhood fishmonger and butcher, renowned for Game.

Ken and I dined on superb home-cured Trout, sweet Seared Scallops, an exceptional Cod dish (with bacon, peas and beurre rouge) and a tasty Wild Mushroom Ragout. Then a platter of cheese as we finished off our soft, velvety French Pinot Noir. Everything is home-made from bread rolls to ice-cream and the quality and freshness shine through with every mouthful.

Breakfast is also a gourmet experience here - coffee and croissants, Eggs Benedict, Full Scottish - traditional or vegetarian.

Sundays are popular at The Raeburn for a lazy, late Brunch or Roast lunch, so ensure you reserve a table well in advance. For a family party, leisure or business event, you can book the library bar & spacious private dining room.

The professional standard is exemplary from welcoming smiles to seamless Hospitality with a capital H. Creating the right ambience is an allusive ingredient. Here, the staff seem to love the fine art of serving, as much as we enjoy sipping our ice chilled Martinis…..

The Raeburn has been a smash hit since day one, a buzzing place to eat and drink, morning, noon and night. As a Restaurant with Rooms, it's a charming historic Townhouse hotel in the heart of Stockbridge away from the city centre.

With a touch of casual sophistication, it’s contemporary with vintage style: In 3 words, Fun, Fabulous, Faultless.
